Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is one of the top universities in China. The university was founded in 1956 in the capital city of Henan Province-Zhengzhou. The city is located on the southern bank of the Yellow River and in the center of China. Zhengzhou University is considered to be the “211 Project” key university which was co-built by the Henan Province and the MOE. At present, the university offers 11 disciplines in 4 campuses. The campuses of the university are spread over an area of about 1070 acres.
Zhengzhou city is one of the eight great ancient capitals in China and is the place of origin of Kung fu, Tai chi and national flower-Peony. The environment of the city is very healthy and warm having Buddhism, Taoism and Islam being widely accepted. The city provides a high standard living with a very low cost as compared to other metro cities like Shanghai and Beijing.
Zhengzhou University was recently founded on July 10, 2000 by a union of three former universities: Zhengzhou University, Henan Medical University, and Zhengzhou University of Technology. The history of Henan Medical University comes from the medical education in National Fifth Sun Zhongshan University that was built in the year 1928. After a few years, this national university moved into Zhengzhou in 1952 and started Henan Medical College. Zhengzhou University is the first comprehensive institution founded by the State Council of Chinese Government in 1956. Huanghe University was captured in the year 1992 and then it was added into Project 211 in 1996. And then in 1963, Zhengzhou University of Technology was started as a national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Chemical Industry of China.
The university started to enroll foreign students since 1997. ZZU is one of the earliest medical colleges approved by the MOE to teach MBBS in English. The medical university comprises of five clinical colleges, 9 large-scale affiliated hospitals with over 12,000 hospital beds, a clinical medical key subject of open laboratory, 11 research institutes and 32 professional laboratories.
Zhengzhou University offers Clinical Medicine which is the first-level key discipline in the university. There are around 3,045 faculty members in the medical school that include 2 academicians, 227 professors and 372 deputy professors. More than 1000 students from many countries from South Asia lie India, Pakistan and Nepal have enrolled in the university so far.
The medical degrees like MBBS from ZZU are recognized by WHO, MCI and other major organizations. The medical graduates of MBBS program from ZZU are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.
The students pursuing MBBS and other degrees from Zhengzhou University are provided with all the facilities and high quality infrastructure. The food provided in the canteen is hygienic and healthy.
