Established in 1805, Kharkiv National Medical University is one of the oldest medical universities in Ukraine. It is a non-profit higher education institution located in the urban area of Kharkiv. Kahrkiv National Medical University has its branch campuses Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk and Donetsk. KNMU is officially recognized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The cost of higher education in Ukraine is much affordable as compared to any other country in Eastern Europe.
Since 1998, Kharkiv National Medical University is n active member of the International Association of Universities (UNESCO). The institute has been training high quality experts in the field of medicine since 1951.
Students come from many countries of Eastern Europe, China, Mongolia, Asia, Africa and Latin America to pursue their higher medical education from KNMU. The languages of teaching in KNMU are Russian and English. This gives an edge to the international students to adapt in the country and the university in an easier way.
At present, there are around 7000 students studying in KNMU, out of which around 2150 students are from foreign countries. The academic staff of Kharkiv National medical University consists of more than 630 teachers, including 102 Doctors of Sciences and Professors, 387 Candidates of Medical Science, 32 members of academies, 17 Honored Scientists. Around 1900 international students are studying at KNMU at the Medical and Dentistry Faculties. There are about 3,600 specialists from 86 states of Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Middle East who have graduated from KNMU since 1951.
Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) offers degrees like MBBS, BDS, MD, MDS, MS and Nursing which are well recognized in any part of the world. KNMU offers a healthy environment along with several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sport facilities and/or activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. The students in KNMU get complete freedom to participate in various international conferences and experiments which helps in their overall growth.
The students studying MBBS in KNMU are given academic training in their main medical specialties. They also get an opportunity to participate in examination of patients, providing urgent aid, work at X-ray rooms and biochemical laboratories. KNMU also provides the students with complete exposure to clinical rounds of patients, their management and arrangement of case histories. All these practices help students gain more knowledge and experience and hence in becoming successful doctors.
